Sulu laughed and nodded, "Yeah, a hoverconvertible. It's all mostly custom, my dad had a big hand in it. I guess he just likes this kind of thing. We have a regular car," he added, "But I figured I needed to prove this thing to you more than an electric car."

His home was near the top of one of San Francisco's many steep hills, and so it took them a few turns to get down to the streetlight for the main thoroughfare. "Usually people are actually flying these things, like..."
