The moment the roots began to drop back towards the ground Sulu was straightening out, collapsing the sword in hand and tucking it back away. He walked right on past Jim, heading for the decimated flower while still keeping just out of reach of the closing mouth near his feet. "I'm fine," he said, sounding out of breath but at least he was trying to put a casual face back on.
