Fine. [Sulu sighed and glared at McCoy as best he could from his position.] I'm not staying a woman. Viruses only last... a week. [He twisted his head to look at Jim, completely ignoring the fact that his Captain is both acting as his pillow and petting his hair.] ...Right?
Yeah, it's usually not more than a week. [He gives Sulu a reassuring smile, but when he looks up at McCoy, it's much less comforting. It looked bleak, as if he was trying to say 'I have no idea.']
[Sulu seemed pretty content with that, not noticing the annoyingly unsure looks going on above him.] Besides. I make an awful woman, I refuse to stay one.
[Jim might have chosen to argue with Sulu immediately, but he was busy giving McCoy a tight-lipped nod of his head. They'd work it out. That decided, he looked down at Sulu.] I don't know about that, you're doing a pretty convincing job so far.
[McCoy returned the nod, sighing as he looked down at Sulu.] God damn it Sulu, you're a good woman. [He said in annoyance, backtracking immediately.] Not that you're acting feminine, just- you're not a bad one- not in action. You- [He just stopped right there. He could almost see Jocelyn's 'you're digging yourself into a deeper hole' tight lipped look.]
[He laughed under his breath and craned his head to look at McCoy,] That was... bad. But I... think I'll just take it as a compliment. [It'd work, either way. He was too sleepy to argue. As penance, though, he dropped his feet into McCoy's lap. Bastard deserved to be the other half of his pillow if he was going to be all retarded about him being a woman.] Seriously... wake me up in ten and I can... go back to my cabin. I don't want to put you out. [Sleepily,] Thank you for... tolerating this though. I'm sorry. Both of you, uh, I mean. [Just so Jim didn't think he was being... weird about Dr. McCoy. It was awkward enough without that added issue.]
