he has never been so humiliated
That virus was awful. At least it prompted me to actually go through that creepy "meme" and take stock of my life. I'm more than a little concerned that some of those prompt "fills" weren't too far off, but I'm going to erase that fact from my mind.
So, at least that answered some questions as to whether or not the next virus was going to be worse than being turned into a kid. It was.
[LOCKED TO JACK HARKNESS]
And now that all I have to deal with is my immense humiliation by your hands, Jack, I really did want to talk to you. How are you, after your visit to the hospital?

And what do you mean, stubborn in different ways? Stubborn is stubborn, isn't it?
no subject
You're always right, Ianto's always pessimistic. Both of you are stubborn, but on different topics, I guess I should have said.
no subject
Well, yeah. That's definitely true. And I'm not denying that I'm stubborn. I'm pretty sure that it's something they drill into you, at least in the Agency, if not in most of the military. I'm sure it's not that unfamiliar to you, being in Starfleet and all.
no subject
Oh, I think I'm pretty familiar with military-grade stubbornness.

Well, then you know all about where I got a great deal of it from. Unfortunately the rest is probably all just me. Ianto's a different case, but. I mean, he's been dealt some pretty hard blows in life. Too many, for how young he is, you know?
no subject
I know. It's actually a little surprising, how he's still generally a nice guy - down on himself a lot, yeah, but he's not really bitter most of the time. I've met some pretty pessimistic people, and they can be downright miserable to be around, but he's not.
no subject
No, he's. He's a special case, I guess. I don't know how he does it, really. I know that I'd be, well, a lot less fun to be around, to say the least.

Some people just handle the bad things that happen to them better than others. He's luckily got a personality that can withstand a lot of crap.
no subject
It makes me wonder what sort of guy he'd be if he hadn't had to put up with all that crap. Much as it might be horrible of me to say it, if he hadn't lived the life he had, he might not be half as enjoyable a person as he is now.
no subject
He wouldn't be the same person, that's obvious enough.

From what I've seen thanks to this place, and what he's told me about when he was young, obviously not. Our Mr. Jones has done quite a bit of maturing, even in the years since he's been hired by Torchwood.

How old is he, exactly?
no subject
How old is Ianto? Er...26. He'll be 27 in...August, I think it is? Why? He's never told you that?
