"And you're not impulsive enough to just go ahead with that after two minutes, right?" Sulu asked with a smirk. He realized pretty quickly that Ianto was keeping out of this conversation, and he couldn't really blame him. It seemed like the exact kind of conversation that would get him stammering and stumbling, especially when Jack gave him that smile. Sulu could read facial expressions pretty well, and that was definitely a smile that meant that he was just guiding this whole conversation. It probably meant he knew that the two of them had been having a private moment.

He supposed that Jack was just too much like Kirk for him to panic over whether or not he was going to get a shotgun to the face or something equally as 21st century. So, instead of panicking, he just smiled pleasantly and leaned against the counter beside Ianto, trying not to impede his hand. "At least you know that Starfleet uniforms only exude respect and honor," he said, "And it'll probably be okay. At the very least, it'd be entertaining as hell for everyone else."
