Sulu really was entertained by the driving; it was thrilling to be in a small vehicle, veering through the streets and taking sharp turns down side-streets. It was pretty much how he used to fly, back before he joined Starfleet and realized that starships really couldn't make those kinds of hairpin turns. (Unless you were flying in the solar system and knew how to drop down in front of another ship. But that was a different story. He still hadn't read up on how you were supposed to fly inside systems...)
Still, he knew that Ianto was really not enjoying this - he could feel his grip on his hand and could see his face paling a little out of the corner of his eye. In between delighted laughter, he leaned over, sitting up a bit to get near his ear. "I'm right here, Ianto," he said, "Don't worry, it's going to be fine."
