Ianto snorted, his mouth twitching into a small smile. "I... I don't imagine that it'd cause any more problems than I already have. I mean. I get heckled enough as it is, for being a man in a well-fitting suit who knows how to color coordinate. I... I can't even go visit my sister's, where I grew up, without someone making some sort of a fairy comment. I'm... I'm used to being out and about with Jack, who flirts with everything in sight, and therefore by association, people pick the less imposing target, and well. You're not Jack, but that doesn't matter. Because you're you, and well. I...like you. So. I mean. If you don't care...I really don't either."
Ianto blushed fiercely, because sitting there holding both of his hands was putting Sulu very close to him, and well. They were talking about going on a date, and Ianto wasn't really sure that all of this was happening. Sulu, as a woman handcuffed to him, stuck shirtless and holding hands with the other in the back of his car, was asking him out on a date, and though Ianto'd initially worried about it, the worrying was turning into the feeling that his stomach was so full of helium he might float up and out of the car if he didn't hold on tight enough. So he did.
"Y-you...asked me out, Lieutenant Sulu," he said looking down at Sulu and into his eyes, which were the only thing on this girl form that were exactly the same as the male one, so Ianto found himself drawn to them as he tried to process what had just happened. "You...really just asked me out. And. And I said yes. So. ...we're. We're going on a date, then. Together. A-an actual date. ...the two of us." Okay, so Ianto was processing it a lot slower than he wanted to, but it was hard, when never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined everything that he'd woken up to this morning, and despite everything that was wrong with the day, this moment just made it worth it, because for the first time in a while, Ianto was really and truly happy. Ecstatic, even. If he were another man, he might've been bouncing in his seat. As it were, he internalized it, and thus, the stuttering and repeating things.
"I..." Ianto said, before abruptly breaking himself out of that. "When?"
