Neither the gazing nor the complimenting escaped Ianto, and so he blushed prettily in reaction to both of them (though he would forever deny the fact that he did anything prettily, he was a man god damn it, and it was bad enough that he blushed as much as he did already).
"...because of the accent, then?" he asked, flustered. At least, he guessed it was the accent. If it was something about the actual sound of his voice, or the fact that Sulu actually enjoyed hearing what he had to say about nothing, then... Well, Sulu was going to have to say that for himself, then. Ianto was not going to let himself assume anything, here.
God, though. If Sulu knew that complimenting him got him to just babble more, then it was a dirty trick, but one that really worked. "Because, you know, just about everyone in this pub has an accent like mine. Or well, similar to mine. What with it being Wales and all. Ironic, that you'd find a lot of Welshmen in the country they're supposed to live in. You can just as easily pick up on anyone else's accent here as well, without allowing myself to go on about nothing like I apparently seem to have a penchant for doing whenever you're around." He put his face in his hands. What was wrong with him? They hadn't even gotten the alcohol delivered, yet. "D'you know, I really don't usually talk this much. Ever."
