Writer's Block: Too scary!!

[Error: unknown template qotd]

Nothing out of the ordinary, I don't think, but the space under my bed when I was 5 or so was one of those terrifying places where all the things I lost went, probably because of some monster hoarding them to try and tempt me down there. I grew out of it pretty fast but still, there's something disturbing about having a big, empty space under your bed where a person can fit.

I think I've finally made up for the lost time from that virus. I really should train somebody else to handle the botany lab if I get incapacitated like that again, because some of the plants in there are sort of volatile. But, that whole thing wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been - which is something everyone else has already pointed out.

Apologies all around for acting like a fourteen-year-old with no social graces but, in my defense, I was a fourteen-year-old with no social graces. Could have been worse, though - could have been thirteen.

So, any bets on how horrible the next virus will be, to make up for this one being pretty entertaining all around?

So. It hasn't escaped my notice that 14-year-old you stole my 15-year-old archivist.

An "intimidating coat", you say?

Well, obviously 14-year-old you could have just left him there in the flat, where he'd stay out of trouble, and keep from raising any suspicions about himself.

Well. He always was rather fond of it.

Not hold you responsible per se. I told him to stay put. Made it kind of impossible for him to leave. Then I come back and the lock is fried with technology that won't be around for another while yet, and he's gone without so much as a note. Call me old-fashioned, but that's enough reason for me to be upset over just about anything, really. Especially since I had to find out through the CCTV footage whether I should have been worried for his life or not, thanks for the warning.

((Note: Jack doesn't know about Ianto's emotional moment. He has neglected to check the community for Ianto's entry, and as such just thinks that the two conspired to bust Ianto out for the day. /shakes head at Jack))

Although I know he's all male, the damsel part is still debatable, but "in distress"? Come on, all I did was lock him in his flat for a few days. I explained to him that the situation was only temporary, that I was his boss, and I kept an eye on him as much as I could. It couldn't've been that bad.

...okay. Color me intrigued. Why would he have anything to say? He came back on his own accord, he changed back to the way he should be, and it seems as if everything is just back to business as usual.

Am I missing something here?

((Heh, it's fine! I enjoy the expressions. xD;; Jack is being particularly obtuse, at the moment, and for once, Ianto is contributing to the relationship!fail as well. Sorry to put Sulu in the middle of them. Someone has to try to kick both of them into gear, though, after all. Also, I'm interested to see if Ianto gets scolded later on for not mentioning it to Jack in the first place. 8P))

Well, yeah. I mean, I left it that way for a reason, you know. I don't know how much he's told you about himself, but it's generally not something that you'd want to find out on your own. There's too much that he could have found at Torchwood, that's why I thought it was safer where he was, in his flat. I even hid all of his diaries from him when he wasn't looking so he couldn't go through those.

((Sulu's welcome to try, but like I said, Jack's being thick at the moment, and probably won't get it unless it's spelled out for him. His reasons were somewhat noble, even if not exactly well-planned. xD;; ))

Listen. Are you being this vague on purpose? If not, you really need to work on your conversation skills...

[After a minute to let exactly what that means process] He looked himself--of all the stupid things to do. I told him he didn't want to know. I don't even know--I mean. The files were still locked and everything. There's no way he could've gotten in without his own personal password. And I sure as hell didn't give it to him.

I would do the same thing. That doesn't mean that I'd advise other people to do it, though. Damn it, Ianto. I'm going to have to set up another piece of security protocol to keep this kind of a thing from happening again. I suppose I should be grateful that it was him and not me effected, but damn. He could've said something, at the very least.

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-04-24 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he's kind of insufferably stubborn as an adult, as well, so I suppose there's no surprise there. But you're right. He doesn't usually tell anyone when anythings wrong even now. Possibly even hides it more now that he's an adult.

...you know, you know an awful lot about my archivist, for a guy that I've only met once.
51stcentury: (explaining smile)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-04-24 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I can imagine, if you know that much about his character already. He's not the easiest nut to crack, that's for sure. And I sure as hell hope that Starfleet isn't planning on recruiting him, whatever that entitles. They'd first have to get permission to transfer him from me, and I'm definitely not letting go of him anytime soon.

No, you don't need my permission to be his friend. He's his own person. You do, however, need my permission to ever be let into the Hub again, as well as my permission for him to ever go out on your little escapades during work hours, so. Don't get too cocky with me. At least, not cocky in the way that you're being at the moment.
