Writer's Block: Too scary!!

[Error: unknown template qotd]

Nothing out of the ordinary, I don't think, but the space under my bed when I was 5 or so was one of those terrifying places where all the things I lost went, probably because of some monster hoarding them to try and tempt me down there. I grew out of it pretty fast but still, there's something disturbing about having a big, empty space under your bed where a person can fit.

I think I've finally made up for the lost time from that virus. I really should train somebody else to handle the botany lab if I get incapacitated like that again, because some of the plants in there are sort of volatile. But, that whole thing wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been - which is something everyone else has already pointed out.

Apologies all around for acting like a fourteen-year-old with no social graces but, in my defense, I was a fourteen-year-old with no social graces. Could have been worse, though - could have been thirteen.

So, any bets on how horrible the next virus will be, to make up for this one being pretty entertaining all around?

Well, yeah. I mean, I left it that way for a reason, you know. I don't know how much he's told you about himself, but it's generally not something that you'd want to find out on your own. There's too much that he could have found at Torchwood, that's why I thought it was safer where he was, in his flat. I even hid all of his diaries from him when he wasn't looking so he couldn't go through those.

((Sulu's welcome to try, but like I said, Jack's being thick at the moment, and probably won't get it unless it's spelled out for him. His reasons were somewhat noble, even if not exactly well-planned. xD;; ))

Listen. Are you being this vague on purpose? If not, you really need to work on your conversation skills...

[After a minute to let exactly what that means process] He looked himself--of all the stupid things to do. I told him he didn't want to know. I don't even know--I mean. The files were still locked and everything. There's no way he could've gotten in without his own personal password. And I sure as hell didn't give it to him.

I would do the same thing. That doesn't mean that I'd advise other people to do it, though. Damn it, Ianto. I'm going to have to set up another piece of security protocol to keep this kind of a thing from happening again. I suppose I should be grateful that it was him and not me effected, but damn. He could've said something, at the very least.

Well, he's kind of insufferably stubborn as an adult, as well, so I suppose there's no surprise there. But you're right. He doesn't usually tell anyone when anythings wrong even now. Possibly even hides it more now that he's an adult.

...you know, you know an awful lot about my archivist, for a guy that I've only met once.

Well, I can imagine, if you know that much about his character already. He's not the easiest nut to crack, that's for sure. And I sure as hell hope that Starfleet isn't planning on recruiting him, whatever that entitles. They'd first have to get permission to transfer him from me, and I'm definitely not letting go of him anytime soon.

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-04-24 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
No, you don't need my permission to be his friend. He's his own person. You do, however, need my permission to ever be let into the Hub again, as well as my permission for him to ever go out on your little escapades during work hours, so. Don't get too cocky with me. At least, not cocky in the way that you're being at the moment.

I'm not biting your head off. I'm telling you the facts. If you don't like it, you can stay the hell away from my base.

[After a pause in commenting back in which it is obvious that Jack has taken a moment aside to calm down] Look, I know you had his best intentions in mind. I appreciate that. And I appreciate that you understand that I am the captain of Torchwood, and what I have to say regarding my base and any of my employees is final. We just need to stop getting caught up in situations like these. Maybe sometime I can run into you when you're not being snuck around my home or stealing my personnel.

And I'm sorry that I don't have shifts, so whenever you talk to me, you are going to get the brunt of whatever it is that's going on at the time. It's been a busy couple of days down a man at Torchwood, and now we've got new things rolling in, by the sounds of it so. I appreciate you being there for him. Just, next time you steal him away, at least leave a note, or something? I mean, coming back to the flat to find the lock blasted away by technology that shouldn't exist in this century was a little off-setting, you catch my drift?
51stcentury: (huh?)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-04-24 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
You say that now, but you never know, especially not with this place. So, yes. Leave a note next time, alright? Or have him call me or something, even if the circumstances are something like he's upset with me and would rather not speak to me ever again if at all possible. I just want to make sure I know where he is, all right?
51stcentury: (smirk)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-04-24 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't doubt that. I don't think 14-year-old you or 15-year-old Ianto really had that much of an opinion of me at all. Other than that I have an intimidating coat, apparently.
51stcentury: (bw smile)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-04-25 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hey. People usually have some reaction to me. And me to them. That's part of the reason I wanted Ianto out of the way. He'd never forgive me for flirting with his younger counterpart, after all. Well, yes he would. He'd just be pretty angry first, though.
