I'm... going to try to learn how to pilot spacecraft as soon as I'm able to." Which meant getting into Starfleet, and telling his family about it, and... well, it was going to be a little dance and song to get that to work out all right.
"It's not really that surprising, is there? I mean, there are probably things you can do that other people can't. It's just my talent." That and fencing, but that was something that didn't necessarily come naturally. He'd just been learning since he was a kid.
