[McCoy looked up from his PADD, nodding to Chapel before walking over.] S- Lieutenant Demora. [he gestured for her to head out into the hall.]

[He sighed at the name, but looked relieved nonetheless, heading out into the hall.] Please tell me you aren't going to lecture me for something I've already realized was a terrible idea. I don't know if I can handle another one.

[McCoy waved a hand.] Jim guilted you then? [He glances at her as they walk.] I don't see what's wrong with wanting privacy on a medical condition. Keeping it from your Captain when it affects your performance, that's another matter.

No, he didn't guilt me. He didn't need to. [Sulu shrugged.] I felt awful enough about it as it was. It hasn't affected my performance when it comes to my duties, I... don't need to think about myself when I'm at the helm. [But that's too personal. He smiled at McCoy.] But, it'll work out in the end. It always does.

[Yeah, the psychologist in McCoy packed that information away. It was certainly interesting.] Then you have nothing to worry about do you? [He nearly stopped. Ok heading with the cute new asian girl into his room wasn't going to look very good. Well... at least they'd stop think he was lusting after Sulu or whatever the hell it was nowadays.]

No, I suppose I don't. [It wouldn't stop him, obviously, but he could ignore it better.] ...Is everything all right, doctor? [He frowned. At least like this, he didn't have to worry about his... apparently clandestine love affair with McCoy and a plant. He still didn't know why people automatically assumed he had brought it on board.]

[MAYBE BECAUSE HE DID. McCoy shook his head and continued, opening his door and gesturing for her to enter before following. He kept his room fairly spartan, only a few notably personal touches. An old comforter that was not at all Star Fleet protocol, medical journals and a handful of books, some dumb trinkets from Jim or Academy in general.

He went to his desk and opened a bourbon bottle.] Bourbon or Saurian brandy?

[HEY, MCCOY IS LIKE... A DAY AWAY FROM LEARNING THAT. Sulu looked around and was a little surprised that he had more personal objects than the doctor, though he didn't mention it.] Bourbon, please. And thank you. [He feels bad for sounding so relieved, but shit, he was.] I was starting to think I'd completely ostracized myself in one fell swoop.

[HE CAN FEEL IT IN HIS HEART OK. He hands Sulu a shot before pouring his own and shaking his head.] Ostracized huh? No offense Sulu but you're a little irrational at the moment. A sudden shift in hormones will do that. [He raises his brow and his glass.] To your hopeful and eventual return.

[Sulu barely waited for McCoy's little toast, throwing the shot back with only the barest of disgruntled faces. He hadn't had hard liquor in a while. That didn't stop him from holding the glass out again.] Hah, probably. [He leaned against the desk with a sigh,] Next time I say something ridiculous, though, don't let me go through with it.

[McCoy downed his own shot, snorting in amusement as he poured another glass.] How old are you Mr. Sulu? Twenty? You're going to say a lot more ridiculous things, it's part of the whole learning experience. [He said as he handed over the bottle.]

[Sulu filled his glass and laughed a bit.] Close enough, I guess. Still, I don't think I can mess up like I have this time around ever again. But, I don't think that's important. How have you been? [He takes his shot to avoid showing how awkward he felt asking that.]

[Let's see, Sulu was a girl, an attractive one at that, Sylar was a cat THEN a girl, also decently attractive, Jim was jealous of Sulu for reasons McCoy still couldn't wrap his head around, they had yelled at each other in the gym until they were friends again and McCoy was doing his best to be a decent... friend? CMO? for Sulu by drinking with him since McCoy was the only one besides Jim who knew what was going on. Drinking with him, while he was an attractive woman.

McCoy sighed.]

Fantastic. [He said dryly, taking his shot.] Considering my species and chromosomes are still in the right forms I can't complain. Chekov hasn't hit on you yet has he?

[He made a face.] No, God no. I've been impartial like this enough to deter nearly everyone. I'm not really interested in making my life even more complicated than it is normally. [He grins,] There's no need to defend my honor or anything, so don't worry. [Mmm, maybe one more shot. Wow, in such a short time? Probably shouldn't...]
