Rescuing people in distress was something I sort of envisioned myself doing a lot as a kid, so the temptation was kind of irresistible. We weren't exactly subtle about the plan to escape, though. And, with all due respect, locking a teenager up in his place without so much as an explanation as to its necessity and then leaving him to his own devices was just asking for trouble.
I am sorry that, as kids, we made you worry, but I'm not going to apologize for doing it, since I still remember my reasons for doing it and they were good ones.
