Sulu shook his head and grabbed Ianto's wrist, pulling him gently to the back door. "It'd be too difficult to figure out how we'd sit, if I were in the front. Besides, I don't need to see out the windshield to know that we're centimeters from death at any given moment." He also was aware that Ianto had had a bad experience with a car before, and that he wasn't entirely comfortable with driving, so he didn't want to leave him alone in the back seat.
Besides, he liked the idea of sitting in back with Ianto. Jack would be driving, so it was likely that Ianto would be more capable of holding a conversation than the other man, and... well, he just figured he might as well use this time to his advantage.
