Sulu wondered how Jack and Gwen would respond to the fact that Ianto was going out with him, and that was why he needed time off. He realized suddenly that he should probably tell Jack before Ianto did, to make sure that Jack was all right with this. He didn't want to step on the other man's toes, or annoy him in any way. It would be counter-productive, especially if they went beyond one date.
And wasn't that a thought? He wondered if Ianto would put up with this sort of thing more than once. Another date, a handful of them, who knew how many of them? And if Ianto wanted that after he had to deal with one, then... then that would be good. Excellent, even. He found himself hoping for the second and third dates, which might've been jumping the gun a little, but he couldn't help himself.
Sulu's thought process was really going nowhere, so he shook his head with a smile and loosened his hold on Ianto's freed hand, though he didn't pull away. "Yeah, pretty much. I'll even use an umbrella if it rains this time, so we won't get turned away at any doors."
