Sulu had figured that, when Ianto opened the door, he'd just hold out the plant in hand like a housewarming gift and not be bothered much by whatever Ianto was wearing; after all, he'd seen the guy in jeans, now, so he could probably not look like an idiot if that's what Ianto decided to wear.
Of course, when he caught sight of Ianto and saw what he was wearing, right down to the jewelry (which was, Sulu imagined, a deviously planned attempt to make him want to see Ianto's collar-covered neck, and his shoulders, and -), he felt his carefully crafted casual air hit a very sudden roadblock. "--Hey," he repeated, very much aware that that's exactly what he was doing, before blinking, raising his eyes to Ianto's because, whoops, he'd sort of been staring at the rest of him. "You - look great."
A gentle shift in the wind brought his attention back to the plant he was holding, as the wind caused the pale blue lily-pad shaped leaves to shift, making a very faint sort of chiming noise. "Oh. Right, uh -" He nodded down to the plant in his hand, grinning bashfully. "I got this for you."
