Ianto wasn't sure what to make of Sulu's reaction to the watch, to be honest. "Well...from what I understand, Jack picked what it was going to look like," he said, with a shrug. "He knows that I like watches and antiques and the likes, so he must've picked it with that in mind." He figured he should explain it, rather than stand there and fret over whether it was a good idea to be giving it over to Sulu or not, especially with the reaction that he'd gotten from the other, so he stepped forward to do just that.
"It's called a Portkey, apparently," Ianto said, looking down at the watch in question so he wouldn't have to look at Sulu himself. "It's designed to travel between two different places--my entryway and your hub. It's activated by touch, but only to bare skin. Apparently, you only touch it once, and then so long as you've got it in your hand, it's not going to work again until you let go completely and move to touch it again. So, y'know. You could hop with it, put it in your pocket and carry it around until it was time to go back, and then do exactly that. From what I can understand," Ianto continued, keeping his eyes firmly planted on the watch, "you don't need to be in either of the places it's connected to for it to work, but it'll always hop you to the opposite place from where you left. At least, that's what I got from Jack and Dumbledore. I...obviously haven't tried it out for myself yet."
