Sulu used his free hand to cross his heart, smiling. "Promise. I hate disappointing people, especially people who are good at guilt trips." The hand that was tucked between Ianto's squeezed the hand below it; even with the light tone, and with the drinks they'd had between them, Sulu was still aware that Ianto wasn't just saying all this to be funny. There was some truth to all of it - how much, obviously, Sulu didn't know, but he was willing to find out.
"Don't worry," he said after a moment, "I'll keep coming back for you, so you don't have to use your terrible powers for evil." He winked and then reached for his glass with his free hand to finish off his drink.
